“A Pandemic Is Declared
On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6 in response to the ongoing global spread of the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus. A Phase 6 designation indicates that a global pandemic is underway.”

The swine flu is actually not that deadly. Just to prove my point I did some research and was shocked to learn that I was wrong! There really is some reason to be concerned. Swine Flu is closely related to the Influenza Pandemic flu of 1918 that killed millions of people. I thought such dangerous flu bugs were a thing of the past. It turns out our government has spent 3.3 Billion dollars over the past few years preparing for what the secretary of the U.S. Health & Homeland Security claims that an influenza pandemic is unavoidable. That people would actually be dying in large numbers because of the flu still seems like an unrealistic claim, but my research revealed differently.
