Stress seems to be on the rise, even among those of us in the natural organic whole foods community. Bad news is so prevalent that I understand that the entertainment industry is booming. Why would this be? Everyone seems to want to get their mind off all the negative pressing issues, including the fear that they will personally have difficult financial times soon. Most of us actually have the same amount of money personally that we had last year, but the economic stress from the outside is such a burden, even among some practitioners of natural organic whole foods lifestyle, that we want to escape in whatever way we can.

Stress Buster Number 1 – Meditation & Refocusing Energy

Meditation and refocusing our energy is probably the best natural remedy for this situation we find ourselves in. The natural organic whole foods solution includes herbs and healthy eating, but even more important is what we talk about and what we listen to. We must refocus and stop talking about a crisis that is not a crisis. We must focus on what is right and who is doing right. Certainly bad news will force us down. The bad press must be turned off. Have some discipline and turn it off.

Stress Buster Number 2 – Regular Exercise

It has been shown over and over again that physical activity can be one of the very best ways to overcome anxiety and worry, the chief elements in what we call stress. The natural organic whole foods community has always supported being active in your lifestyle. Find something you enjoy and get out there and make time for it everyday. Everything from walking to gardening will help reduce stress.

Stress Buster Number 3 – Research and Include Herbs in your diet.

A quick internet search revealed a short list of herbs that can be helpful. Most natural organic whole food solutions take time, and I would recommend using a particular herb for months to achieve optimal results. I am sure that you can spend more time and even find more natural organic and whole food remedies for stress. Here is what I found:

Valerian : Valerian keeps the nervous system from being overwhelmed. Helps to aid sleep a common side effect of increased stress.
Hops : Helps to ease nervousness, restlessness and stress. Also decreases the desire for alcohol. 


Chamomile : Chamomile is a gentle relaxant and a good nerve tonic aiding herbal stress relief.
Catnip : Catnip is an effective herbal remedy for stress that calms and reduces anxiety. 


Finally, remember that you can’t overcome stress by running away from real life, but if you deal with stress responsibly you will become an over comer this is the type of thinking that the natural organic whole foods lifestyle promises if you embrace healthy thinking.
